Beautiful Pools of the Caribbean

Few places in the Caribbean are touched with singular charm and tranquillity and, there aren’t enough adjectives to properly describe the pools around the region. Some are spectacles, others sanctuaries. Some offer a private oasis where you can discover a myriad of ways to recharge, rejuvenate and relax.

Ultimately, the quality of a great pool depends on the occasion. The Caribbean has more great pools than we can count, but these are some of our favourites for the New Year. What are yours?

Four Seasons Resort – Nevis
The Four Seasons Resort has three pools, and they’re all infinity pools. We like the Reflection Pool, which is aimed at adults and is tremendously relaxing.

Jade Mountains – St. Lucia
Every Jade Mountain suite has its own infinity pool and private terrace which showcases some of the most stunning views from various levels.

Strawberry Hill – Jamaica
The negative edge infinity pool at Strawberry Hill is doubly impressive: firstly, due to its stunning location in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica, and secondly, its panoramic view over the city of Kingston below, at an elevation of 3,000 feet. The pool is 79 square feet, and located directly in front of the bar and dining veranda.

Sugar Beach – St. Lucia
The pool at Sugar Beach is just steps from the sand with a view of the turquoise ocean and the towering Pitons to the left and right.

Galley Bay Resort & Spa – Antigua
The free-form swimming pool at Galley Bay features a multi-tiered waterfall, creating a serene, oasis-like setting.  Surrounded by lush tropical gardens and a natural bird sanctuary, guests can take a dip while enjoying the calming, tranquil sounds of nature.

GoldenEye Hotel & Resort – Jamaica
GoldenEye offers both a saltwater and freshwater pool. The main freshwater infinity pool lies at the far end of the beach, in front of Bizot Bar. The slightly smaller eye-shaped saltwater pool is on a stone jetty that juts out to sea, and is often the site of torch-lit celebrations during full moons.

CuisineArt Golf Resort & Spa – Anguilla
This signature infinity lap pool stretches through the centre of the 5 star Anguillan resort. It tapers off to a picturesque view of Rendezvous Bay and neighbouring St. Marten.

Hyatt Regency – Trinidad
The pool on the roof of the Hyatt Regency in Port of Spain Trinidad boasts views of the sea that extend to Venezuela on a clear day.

Dreams Punta Cana Resort & Spa 
The free-form pool at Dreams Punta Cana Dominican Republic is one of the largest in the region. It stretches  from the lobby all the way down to the pristine beach.
