Delta to Launch New Service to Grenada
Delta Airlines is making a concerted expansion push in the Caribbean, and Grenada is the latest beneficiary.
Delta will be launching a new weekly service between Atlanta and Grenada this summer, according to Grenada’s government.
The new service will be operated on Saturdays beginning June 6, lasting through Aug. 15.
The plan is to use the service to decide if the flight will return for the winter 2015 peak season, the government said.
A number of Grenadians reside in the Atlanta area, and Delta’s Atlanta hub is a major connection point for cities across the United States.
“The new service will be a further boost to Grenada’s tourism industry,” the government said in a statement.
Delta recently added flights to several of Grenada’s neighbors, including new flights from both New York and Atlanta to Barbados, and new service from New York to St Lucia.
